Location: Clackamas County Public Services Building
The textile artwork "Clackamas County – Our Legacy to Cherish" was created by Lake Oswego artist Kathy Martin to honor former County Commissioner Judie Hammerstad's long service to the county, and ardent leadership on behalf of the arts. The work was privately commissioned by Commissioner Hammerstad's friends and colleagues, and presented to her in a public ceremony when she retired from office. True to her nature, Commissioner Hammerstad donated the artwork to Clackamas County, with the request that it be exhibited in perpetuity for the benefit of County citizens. The artwork depicts a selection of awe-inspiring local scenery and important historic elements, and is prominently displayed in the main lobby of the Public Services Building in Oregon City.
