Committees
The County’s beautiful public artwork would not be present if not for the dedication and aesthetic guidance of CCAA Public Art Committees. A Public Art Steering Committee, composed of citizen stakeholders and Art Alliance staff was formed by the County Administrator in 2005. The Committee’s purpose is to guide the development of art projects that will enhance public spaces, benefit and educate County citizens and visitors, and ensure that any master-planning decisions are integrated and consistent with existing cultural values and principles.
Additionally, Stakeholder Committees are formed for each public art project that represents the citizens, business leaders, arts leaders, and County leaders in connection with the project. In order to ensure the artwork created reflects the desires of the surrounding cities, community participation is of key importance. Past Committees include:
Granite Rug - Red Soils Plaza
Flying Humans - Monterey Avenue
Trolley Trail
TeleTales
Reinvention - Stafford-Borland Roundabout
Nature's Gateway - 172nd Roundabout
Bridge Charms - Clackamas River Bridge
Perennial - Red Soils Public Services Campus Enhancements
Leaf Dance - Red Soils CUP Screen Wall
